What Browser do you use? Google Chrome, Internet Explorer.	After yet again another debate on Goku's parenting skills, I felt like making this thread. Chi-Chi is commonly to task for bad parenting, usually by young boys who don't even grasp the hardships of parenting and see her as nothing more than a reactionary b**** who won't let the heroes have fun or do as they need to. Some even going as far as to make her out to be someone who cares only are her selfish desires. It also doesn't help with TOEI's lust for amping up these seemingly negative qualities (which seems to have become full-force with Super). The people do react to the overreaction of Chi-Chi's bad parenting/dirty soul/whatever, by throwing Goku under a bus. As for Goku... we'be already discussed his flaws as a parent in great length repeatedly. Is it true? Are they really the bad parents fans claim they are.. or do they just project too much of their own feelings onto Goham and Goten?

Chi-Chi might be strict but she's obviously thinking of her children and knows how to properly raise them and wants their best interests at heart.

Mozilla Firefox Favourite Manga Berserk all day erry day	Yeah Goku is, Chi-Chi isn't. I think people who consider Chi-Chi a bad parent just don't know what discipline is. If it weren't for her Gohan would just be a dumb s* like his dad, she pushed him to living a relatively normal life and going to highschool. For the sake of her son she stood up to one of the strongest guys in the univers(at the time so far as they knew) Although...Goten...she seems to have got lazy with him. I don't remember it being expressly stated that he was naturally stupid she just didn't seem as hard on him. Guess maybe they didn't have enough or any money to hire tutors and whatnot like they did with Gohan. Due to that, definitely not perfect but like a million leagues above Goku. Who incidentally...has he even spoke to Goten in Super? Barely seems to acknowledge him. When he appeared in Buu Saga fair enough, he'd just learned of his existence and had fairly important s* to do. I guess another thing you could hold against Chi-Chi is that she doesn't force Goku to spend time with his kids, though again an excuse could be that his way of spending time with them would be to train them.

In super, when there's peace, we get to see that goku does spend time with goten and enjoys it. Imo at least. That was nice to see Chi chi is an annoying b* sometimes but like Steve said, she helped him pursue a relatively normal life

Internet Explorer Favourite Manga Dragon Ball Z	Yeah, Kakarrot is a bad parent. I wouldn't go as far to say Chi-Chi is, but she's too controlling. It's great that she didn't want Gohan or Goten to turn out like their Father, but I do think she went too far and pretty much had Gohan achieve her dream. Gohan pretty much had zero choice, from day one it was made very clear that Chi-Chi wanted him to be a scholar, and then when Gohan is old enough to share with us what he wanted...what a shock, he wants to be the very thing that's been shoved down his throat. It would've been the same thing if Gohan was raised only to train and fight, that's what he would've wanted to do his whole life. There should've been a healthy medium, and had there been...Gohan wouldn't have slacked off the seven years of peace, and would've turned out just as smart and more powerful. So yeah, I don't thin Chi-Chi is a bad mother, but a little too controlling.

Chichi is a tad overprotective but I don't know if that's good or bad seeing how Gohan ended up. However I don't think they've failed as parents, they've done a decent job considering their status.
